FAQ's

  • What's included when you hire me?
    When you book with me, you're getting someone who cares about your day as much as you do. I'll work with you on timeline details beforehand, blend into the background when needed, and deliver photos that bring you right back to how everything felt. Confirming a booking with me gives you the peace of mind that my team and I will provide the best possible service before, during and after your event or photoshoot. All edited photos are included in the package and hourly & package rates. Guests of your event have access to download high resolution images without having to pay extra.
  • What's not included?
    Additional Insurer Insurance: In some cases, the venue will require a specific type of certificate of insurance that adds the venue or separate entity as an additional insured. Typically, a single day certificate of insurance can cost $20-$60 - which will be billed to the client at cost. (I won't up-charge you.) Locations Fees: In some cases, venues such as hotels and commercial spaces + studios will require fees which will be paid by the client at cost (I won't up-charge you.)
  • Do you charge a travel fee?
    For full days events, such as weddings or conferences, no travel fee up to 100 miles from the heart of Balboa Park. Travel fees are charged for anything of greater distance than 100 miles . Travel fees are also waived up to 40 miles distance from the heart of Balboa Park for all other bookings. Please inquire by email photo@jackiehan.com if you have any additional questions.
  • How many hours of photography is necessary for a wedding day?
    You're spending so much time and energy planning your special day. Be sure to get what you want forever documented. Part of the task as a photographer is to work with you on your schedule of events, not just to be sure that I capture what you want, but also to ensure that the schedule is realistic and gives space and time for the moments that matter. Most wedding days are a full day event. We can work together to prioritize what you want as image keepsakes as part of your entire album. I recommend a minimum of 6 hours if there are no getting ready moments you want captured. A minimum of 8 hours if you want getting ready photos all the way to the reception.
  • Do I automatically get two photographers in your packages?
    For full wedding days with 51 guests or more, you will get two photographers in our packages that start at $2,600. We believe that capturing all of your wedding day is best with two photographers since there are moments that are simultaneously going on. If you have less than 50 guests, then one photographer can work to capture everything you like, but we will aways try to provide two. If you have any questions, please email photo@jackiehan.com
  • How long will it take for you to edit photos and delivery them to me?
    I am faster than the standard in the industry, however it is important for me not to rush the sorting and editing process. Believe it or not, editing is a very time consuming process and needs full attention to be sure that all the color grade and details are refined. For larger full day events such as weddings, it will take 4 weeks for delivery. For smaller more intimate portrait sessions and events, on average, I offer a 2 week turnaround time, or less.
  • What if the images are accidentally lost?
    I have years of experience to create safety nets around our equipment and storage of data aka your RAW images. I always double write on SD cards so that at each press of the shutter, there is already a backup. After your online gallery album expires in ninety (90) days, if you loose your images or forgot to download them, we can re-deliver them online with you for an additional fee. After delivery of your album, we will backup and keep one copy of your album for up to 2 years. After that there is no guarantee we will have a copy. It is important for you to preserve and protect your photos by making a copy of them or storing them in a cloud backup.
  • What type of equipment and files do you shoot?
    My company shoots on Sony Cameras - A7iv and A7riv, and we write in Uncompressed RAW files to maximize editing freedom . Our flash setup is a mix of Godox and Sony flashes all top of the line in the industry. We have a few cameras on deck for more artistic looks such as a Leica Q2 and only but faithful Pentax 645Z Medium Format Camera. Keep in mind, we don't always bring these additional cameras out so if you want them at your shoot or event, please reach out and let's discuss in the details so we can best prepare for photo day!
  • Do you book multi-day events?
    Yes! Based on availability, I can book multi-day events, not limited to wedding weekenders and elopements, conferences etc. My rates for these multi-day events are dependent of many factors such as accommodation needs, licensing of use of photos ( personal vs Commerical ), and distance traveled.
